| Not sure if anyone recalls one of my previous posts, but long story short: in the process of resealing my oil pan (that part is apparently sucessful), i left a paper towel in the drain tube of my driver side turbo and it backed up oil both into the intake and the exhaust. I spoke with two authorized garrett turbo rebuilders, and they both said that the oil has no place to go but through some air passages between the housings, and it was a very low probability that I ruined any seals or damaged anything. Anyway, within the 1st few minutes of realizing the problem, I had smoke out of both tail pipes. After emptying the exhaust pipe and take the inlet pipes off and cleaning them out (and the turbo compressor housing with compressed air), I still have smoke on the driver side exhaust and it is only noticeable at idle. I have multiple questions. 1) Why am I no longer seeing oil out of both pipes? I have an X pipe? Does the air not mix enough to push smoke from one side to the other? 2) If I am only having some smoke out of one side, is that indicating that I may still have residual down in the muffler section of the driver side exhaust? 3) I took the TP off twice on the driver side to check for more oil residue and it was completely clean. I also checked the X pipe and saw no residue either.
